Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Norlen L, Lempster, visiting Paradise Rock Club Sun, 3 May 2015

I appreciate bargains. Although the cost was expensive it was the least expensive in the area due to the location. We were a bit nervous after reading the reviews but were pleasantly surprised. We have stayed in far worse. Although it wasn't glamorous it was clean, the beds were comfortable and it had a microwave and fridge. We even had a nice view of the river. It was about a mile walk to the subway and a short cab drive to the Paradise Rock Club. The area has nice restaurants.

Liked: Price lower than competition; great location.

Good

Liked: Spacious rooms.
Disliked: Location far from city centre (although not too far from Harvard). A little but more attention for sustainability would have been appreciated. Especially the enormous unnecessary amounts of plastics used at breakfast could be improved.

Great location just minutes from...

Liked: The room was spacious and well-maintained, with comfortable beds. Everything was spotlessly clean - from the bathroom to the bed linens and carpets.
Disliked: no negatives

not worth the money, spend...

Liked: The art and decorations were very nice. Thanks for the toothpaste and brushes. The drinking water dispenser on the floor is an awesome feature; I appreciated that. Convenient parking right next to the building.
Disliked: The quality of the amenities wasn't worth the price paid. The street is sketchy; the building is very loud; the room has a low ceiling, an oldish bathroom, the bathtub has a bottom of questionable cleanliness, and the shower curtain is not quite fresh. Blankets would be nice to have by default in the room, but when I realized I needed one, it was pretty late to roam around the hotel to look for a blanket. The heater was loud, and in combination with sounds of constantly slamming doors and the absence of oxygen in the room, it was impossible to sleep. Breakfast was symbolic - carbs and sugar, nominal fruit, and mostly just super processed junk food. I'd expect that there could be some freshly cooked food with a restaurant on site. For the price, I would expect real utensils, at least. Also, I still didn't have a receipt in my mailbox/spam. It would also be nice to know about parking rates in advance.
