I really enjoyed my stay at the Aloft Hotel in Detoit! The workers at the Service Desk were very helpful, and courteous. I would love to come back and stay again. Until then, keep up the good work at this amazing hotel.

Looked for a Starwood experience and left feeling like I should have booked a Comfort Inn. Keyless technology not working - it will make a light come on but will not unlock door!

Liked: Close to Fillmore!
Disliked: Hotel is not ready for public yet! There are so many things just not acceptable. No food is a big problem, especially with no assistance in locating possible places! Wanted a massage but no one knew the downtown area - had to print out some documents. No internet connection on one computer and password needed for the other computer - however no one could assist! Someone came over after hearing my phone connecting with technical support supplies on the computer and got one computer connected. Finally got to print document and no ink! Left to return to the room and the key didn't work - had to return to the lobby to find at least three others with the same problem! Biggest issue beyond the cold was the inability to control lighting in restroom area. All lights on.

Superb

Liked: The historical facility is amazing, the meticulously reoworked rooms kept all of the charm yet had completely modern bathrooms.
Disliked: I was not able to access internet, the way the internet service was set up in the web system was too confusing to navigate to actually get online. I unfortunately had to use my own hotspot. I expect a $300 room to include internet access.

Liked: The service was 5 stars. Loved the restaurant and bar downstairs. The room was spacious, clean and amazing view. We loved our stay.

Liked: The room was the most comfortable we have experienced in our travels. Everything from the mattress, linens, furniture, and quietness.We actually wanted to stay longer but the hotel was booked full.
Disliked: Not a thing.

Liked: For the price of the hotel, the rooms were a lot more upscale and fancy. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the bed was amazingly comfy.
Disliked: For the price, it would have made it more worth it to include breakfast, especially since there wasn't any pool etc. in an already expensive hotel, we weren't interested in spending more at the restaurant, although it did look like it had a nice menu. The only comment on the room was that for a two person booking, they only provided one robe. We thought that may have been a mistake. We had an unfortunate bad experience with valet parking. It's hard to know who is at fault, but we paid for the $48/day valet service overnight parking, and our car came back scratched up. An investigation is on going with our insurances now because it will cost us a lot to get the scratches fixed. The hotel was apologetic and got their valet manager right away. We are still waiting on a copy of their incident report and surveillance report 5 days later which I am not very impressed with, so I will be calling. I understand that it's hard to know if it was a valet driver or someone from the city that caused the damage of course, but I would like it figured out and it's just one of those unfortunate things you wish would never happen!Other than that, the stay was good!
