Liked: Great venue; easy to get to with parking nearby.
Disliked: Paid a lot for parking but then didn't need to give ticket when we left, so I feel we got ripped off there.

Disliked: Doors one hour late opening - everyone a bit peeved off!

I had travelled from London to attend a gig by Tony Visconti, Woody Woodmansey and Holy Holy who were, for the very first time live, performing the whole of David Bowie's album "The Man Who Sold The World". The gig was a total knock-out in every respect, and I am sure the acoustics and ambience in the hall contributed to this. Thank you so much.
Liked: Hall is a good size, with good height and excellent acoustics.
Disliked: Not allowed to take in a bottle of water I'd just bought elsewhere - would be good if a warning was given about this, but fortunately I was in plenty of time to take it back to my hotel and return.

OK so the gig I went to see here was Placebo... we were waiting outside the box office to pick up our tickets for about an hour and a half along with a thousand or so other fans crowded around the general area of the building. There isn't much to look at from the outside. Once inside we were surprised at the size of the place. Its small and I believe it hold around 4000. There are 4 bars in the lower area and 2 on the balcony I believe. I cant confirm this however as I didn't go up there. I also dont buy drinks at gigs so I cannot comment on the price either. From the inside the venue is nice to look at. Its small and its great for gigs... particularly if its a notable band you are seeing as even at the back the view is not bad. My friend and I were in the 2nd row for the first three quarters of the gig before we had to be pulled out due to my friend having some difficulties. The staff handled this well and allowed me to go with him. Because of this we used the first aid facilities. Now I know Showsec and St Johns ambulance are not directly related to the academy but these people along with the academy staff did well to accommodate our needs at the time. and we were soon at the back of the crowd enjoying the last of the gig. Overall I would recommend this as a good venue for gigs.
Liked: Easy to navigate
Disliked: Not so nice to look at from the outside
