I was at Brixton O2 Academy for the Slash gig. I loved Brixton Academy, I had general standing tickets which were great. I'm quite short and loved the fact the standing area sloped down towards the stage. I was probably 20 or so rows back and had a perfect view without having to stand on tip toes! This was a sell out event yet I didn't find I had to queue for the bar (as there were plenty of them) or cloakroom. For me this was the perfect sized concert venue - loved it and will definitely return. Slash totally rocked!

This was my first visit it to the O2 Academy Brixton. We had tickets for Faithless, in the circle area of the venue. When we arrived I did find the door staff to be very rude, however my boyfriend said he had no issues so I guess it just depends on who you end up going to. When we bought our tickets I didn't realise they were in a seated area as they were described as "Circle Unreserved", so I was a little concerned on arrival when we were told we would have to remain seated throughout the whole gig. When seeing a dance act this does not seem great!! I thought the warm up act The Hempolics were good, they had quite a chilled hip hop/reggae vibe. Faithless came on at 9 and were amazing, the stage lighting and sound quality were fantastic. This was a sell out event so the atmosphere was incredible. And luckily the no standing rule in the seated area went out the window, and everyone was able to get up and get into it - which was great. On first impressions I was a little unsure about Brixton Academy due to the rude staff and seating rule, however throughout the night my opinions changed and I would love to return to this venue!!

I saw a brilliant Dave Matthews Band gig and I thought that the staff at Brixton were fantastic. I got some dinner at the hot food stand and everything was very reasonably priced. It is a very easy place to access, and the queues outside are funnelled in very quickly. I had a ball.

Liked: Great sight lines, with a great atmosphere always.
Disliked: Can only buy hot food downstairs.
