We had standing tickets for the Queen concert so we got there early to try and get a good space. However we were moved three times and at one point told we had to walk to the other side of the venue as we had standing tickets and had to use another entrance. As you can imagine the crowd were getting a bit fed up and refused to move again. Once we got in it was fine. Price of refreshments and queues for the toilet were ridiculous as at most venues.
Disliked: Very unorganised waiting to get in.

I visited the Echo Arena for the first time on Saturday to watch Duran Duran. The arena itself seemed fine to me - my friend and I had floor-level seats and had a good view of the stage. We also managed to leave the arena fairly quickly at the end. The refreshments on sale were pretty pricey, but the same goes for most similar venues. My only real bugbear was how difficult it was to get home using public transport. The show finished at 11pm, and my last train home left Lime Street at about 11.10pm! It's also about a 20min walk to the station, so anyone relying on going home by train either has to miss a decent chunk of the show or find another way to get home. This seems like a pretty major flaw in the planning of the arena. For that reason, I would choose Manchester's MEN over the Echo arena in future, despite the latter actually being much closer.
Liked: Easy to find way around
Disliked: Too far from main station

looks good from outside. very basic inside. uncomfortable seats. as you would expect drinks etc are expensive. You can not take your own drink or sweets into the arena. Not as good as I had anticipated with all the hype surrounding 'our' Arena. Altho cameras/phones not allowed I saw 'lots' of people using them at the Britains Got Talent Show. I would much prefer to sit in a theatre and enjoy the atmosphere. The Echo Arena has no atmosphere.
Liked: lots of ladies toilets - if you are quick.
Disliked: the top is taken off your drink bottle.
