We saw the play, "Anything Goes" at the Au-Rene Theater. This play was popular in the 30's, and it needed revitalizing. The exposition was slow, and the actors spoke so quickly that it was sometimes difficult to hear their lines. Also, since the theater has louvered walls, it seemed that the sound escaped through the louvers instead of bouncing back to the audience. However, the play did feature some energetic dancing. The second act picked up, and all in all, it proved to be an enjoyable evening, even though it didn't reach my high expectations. All in all, it was a good, but not excellent experience.
Liked: Dancing was energetic.
Disliked: Acoustics; play needs revitalizing.
