A MODERN AND ECLECTIC BEAUTIFUL...

Liked: A very inviting facility. The valet service was great, and the valet staff were very kind and helpful. As soon as you walk into the facility, it was very warm and welcoming. It is an open floor plan with a very artistic sitting area directly at the entrance, along with a very large eating area that - during the day, is utilized for breakfast, work, conversations, etc., and a night - a total party area. There is also a bar that is also used as a seating area for eating/reading during the day and of course, spirits after 4pm (until 11:30pm). To add to the nightlife atmosphere, there is also another bar/seating/eating area that is "partially" outdoors that was very cozy. This area seems to be best utilized at night (in my opinion). I LOVED the vinyl record feature where you could get a record player and pick out a very diverse collection of vinyl records to play in your room. Speaking of the room, very, very clean and modern - both the room and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the tv was the biggest I've seen in a hotel (big with high definition quality). The food was FANTASTIC! Loved the ambiance of the rooms, hallway, and the overall hotel. Diverse patrons, superb staff encounters, "bohemian appeal", safe, warm, and friendly environment that I would highly recommend. It appears to also be a pet-friendly facility. I am a frequent "stay-cation'er" and have visited/stayed at many local hotels. This, by far, has become my favorite.
Disliked: I wish there was a pool. Although my visit was in the winter, this would be an awesome stay in the summer especially if there was a pool. Not a deal breaker though. Also wished that the bedding came with a comforter. The bed (although very comfortable) was only covered with a quilt which starts off your sleep feeling pretty cold and having you to turn up the thermostat higher than desired just to be able to sleep comfortably. Quilts are for the summer; COMFORTERS are for the winter. The pillows were a nice size but not the best. I would have liked a little more lighting in the room. I understand the energy saving, dim, and tranquil setting that is utilized throughout the facility - but not the room. I like to have bright lights in my room/bathroom. The bar choices were expensive where the spirits that were offered were "high-end". You should always note that bar pricing will be a bit high, but the choices of alcohol were high-end spirits. Be prepared for that. The valet is a bit pricy (to be expected) however there are options (i.e. a parking garage across the street (no ins/outs), and of course street parking - if you can find any). Valet is always a preferred amenity for me and you can come and go without an additional cost.

Disliked: We had bad weather and museums and other tourist spots were shut on 2 days while we were in Washington so we ate in at the hotel which we do t usually do and whilst staff in restaurant were generally excellent on 2 occasions we encountered very poor service Check your bill carefully when you leave as we had incorrect charges such as costs related to valet and parking when we did not have a car and incorrect room rates for some nights
