Terrible

Liked: I will start with the positive. The staff were friendly and the place was clean. Starting with the hotel itself. The room that was given to me was unacceptable. Me and my wife was stuck in a room thats so small you couldnt stand next to each other. The bed was 30cm from the shower which was 30cm from the toilet. No doors or anything splitting the toilet from the bed. There was no space to put clothes or anything it was shocking. The breakfast consisted of croissants that was so hard it could break windows and a cereal bar with some yogurts.Then we come to the biggest problem the area. The hotel is situated in the Tenderloin Area. Its not safe to walk there during the daytime never mind night time. You couldn't sleep at night as the homeless are shooting up drugs and having raves outside your window. All you smell is urine, weed and strong chemicals the poor business owners use to clear feces off their front door in the mornings. Its really bad like something out a horror movie. Homeless people everywhere, needles on the street, poo on the street its insane (After a nice meal at the cheesecake factory in Union Sq I had to see one guy having a dump on the street). We went for a holiday and needless to say the experience has scarred me for life. So in short I paid almost £500 for 4 days to live in a shell smaller than my study with me and my wife taking turns to wait outside when the other use the toilet to never going out at night as you would get stabbed by some drug addict. AVOID

Very good

Liked: Breakfast included, interior design of the hotel was great, the reclinable beds in the rooms were a good touch
Disliked: Breakfast wasn’t plentiful.

Fine for a brief stay...

Liked: The location was convenient to public transit (BART, MUNI).
Disliked: All good, as long as one is aware that the general vicinity is not in the best part of the city, and one takes the necessary precautions.

Liked: The location was perfect! Just down the street from the theatre.
Disliked: The pillows were awful. Like an Ikea pillow had a vendetta out against you. Even though they provided 4-- which was WONDERFUL-- they were all the same. I ended up folding some of my clothes over to use as a pillow to save my neck.

I didn’t stay there so...

Liked: It was. The worse we never find parking it said that it has parking in the hotel and it was so much homeless people there that we don’t wanted to stay there I hope we get our money back
Disliked: Homeless everywhere outside the hotel and no parking

Superb

Liked: Room was comfortable, good shower. It was a relatively quiet given the central location. I appreciated having an iron and ironing board. There was a lounge room to hang out in the evening and a second space to make some work calls. I walked to the Asian art museum with ease.
Disliked: I was hungry and the only food was a vending machine with sweet snacks. There was no where right close by to grab a bite at night. I didn't feel safe enough to walk around and look further. In the morning I could walk to a few breakfast places that were nice.
