This delightful Country House Hotel in the historic city of York offers free Wi-Fi and on-site parking for nominal charge.There is a park and ride service just outside the door so you can enjoy both the history of the city and the tranquil setting of a country house. York Pavilion Hotel has 2 courtyard gardens a bar serving local specialties bar snacks and afternoon teas are available daily. There are comfortable lounges where you can read the daily papers enjoy a morning coffee and relax beside an open log fire on chilly winter evenings. There are brilliant walks right from the hotel along the river bank and a 30-minute stroll will take you to the beautiful old city. Fulford Golf Club and York University are both just 5 minutes' drive away. Ok not amazing

Liked: Good stay again but food was not as great as when staying before. The fish I ordered was bland and dry and I didn't feel I got value for money

very handy for university of...

Liked: Easy to find hotel on main A19. Well lit accessible car park, reasonably priced at £10/day . Fast efficient check-in. Large room, pleasantly warm on a very chilly day. Good wholesome home-cooked food.
Disliked: Service in restaurant painfully slow at dinner. Lighting in room barely adequate even with all ceiling roses and occasional lamps on left reading difficult. Curved bottom of bath meant standing in shower difficult.

Liked: Lovely and clean, good breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Would stay again!
Disliked: Only downside was the door didn't lock from inside. Only a chain to go across.
