Set in a Gothic mansion YHA Ilam Hall has 84 acres of beautiful parkland a traditional restaurant and stylish lounge. The YHA is located in the Peak District and offers views over Dovedale. The YHA Ilam Hall has dormitory rooms most containing bunk beds with shared bathroom facilities. The magnificent Victorian building also houses a sumptuous lounge with a TV and games area. The on-site restaurant serves traditional evening meals and light lunches. The cafe-bar offers light snacks and beverages and there is also a kitchen for self-catering guests. YHA Ilam Hall Hostel is a National Trust property and the River Manifold runs through the beautiful grounds. Alton Towers is a 15-minute drive away and Chatsworth House is a 30-minute drive.

Good

Liked: Location, near family event.Self catering kitchen was ok.
Disliked: Receptionist was officious and unfriendly.No plug in bathroom sink. Hot water not very hot.

Amazing place very beautiful!

Liked: The amazing were lovely and very helpful!
Disliked: The wifi is not good. The place has no reception with vodaphone so we were very reliant with wifi for internet connection.

Yha experience amazing ...

Liked: Stunning building.., views., location .,Friendly staff and guests Amazing facilities Cleanliness of room and inside fabulous Fun with board games pool table ping pongMade own food in shared kitchen Decorated trees for Christmas
Disliked: Couldn't walk the beautiful thorpe cloud and surrounding areas if dovedale as the storm had landed Missed out on walk., will be back to stay and extend our adventure

Very good

Liked: Lovely setting, very scenic, lovely atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. Food in restaurant was lovely too.
Disliked: There was no wifi
