Great quiet spot from where...

Liked: The Hall is tucked in a quiet village in the south central area of the district. It has good connections with Buxton and Bakewell, either drive, cycle or bus. The room was warm and beds very comfortable despite the -5C temperature outside. Plenty of public spaces to relax, have a picnic and meet people.
Disliked: The shower is a bit tricky, the head can't be moved and the whole cabin gets so wet that you don't have where to leave your clothes

Just what I needed for...

Liked: It is a Youth Hostel, so you are not going to get a 5* hotel experience, but the bed was comfy enough and I slept well.Excellent self-catering provision - I found everything I needed.Lovely location, and I recommend trying the suggested walks displayed in the main block.Plenty of parking on a Sunday night stay - might be more difficult at the weekend.Didn't know it was possible to have a room to yourself before this stay. Definitely would use again.
Disliked: Pillows are a bit thin, but I brought my own anyway.

Liked: It's a 4 star hostel, a super place to volunteer and walk from, the beauty spot of Wolfscote Dale is a mile straight along the footpath opposite the front door
Disliked: Cold in winter, dinner expensive
