Surrounded by the Peak District countryside this Victorian gothic mansion is set in formal gardens and 27 acres of parkland. With 4 caverns on the doorstep it is a great base to explore the spectacular Winnats Pass and Mam Tor. Guests can enjoy a number of walks around the valley overlooked by the picturesque peaks. Peveril Castle is just a few minutes' walk away. Chatsworth House Haddon Hall and Poole's Cavern can all be reached in 30 minutes' drive. Gorgeous spooky old building

Liked: Lovely place great spooky vibe. Really nice location with good parking. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone getting here via public transport.
Disliked: They were carrying out some renovations at the time of my stay. Banging on the walls isn't the nicest way to wake up in the morning.

Overall, superb.

Liked: Very comfortable, quiet room. Nice places to sit and relax downstairs with a beer. Breakfast in morning was tasty and well organised. Location was superb for walking mam tor and nipping into town.
Disliked: nothing I can think off.

Liked: Great spot to stay. Good facilities, comfy bed and clean room. Breakfast is good value and the staff friendly and helpful.
