Hotel Description
This YHA hostel is set in a beautifully converted 240-year-old former granary. This Grade II listed building offers self-catering accommodations with private bathrooms and an art gallery. The YHA Berwick overlooks the River Tweed and there is direct access to the quay through a tunnel. There are many shops and restaurants within just a 5-minute walk or guests can follow the Lowry Trail around this historic town. There is a modern shared kitchen that guests are able to use and a lounge area with a TV. There is also a ground floor bistro open all day which serves home-cooked snacks meals and drinks. Berwick-Upon-Tweed is the northernmost town in England and is surrounded by countryside perfect for walking and cycling. Alnwick Castle used as Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter films is a 35-minute drive away.

Liked: Room and beds /bedding comfortable and clean as were ensuite facilities.Cafe on ground floor great facility and nice atmosphere. everything you needed to cook a meal in hostel kitchenArt Exhibitions held regularly in buildingGreat location
Disliked: Shower area feeling a little jaded.Common hostel kitchen/lounge area practical rather than places to linger

Very good

Liked: The location was great, lovely by the Quay side. Right in the centre of the town. Amazing building, good car park. Bedrooms were clean and the beds and bedding were really comfy. The Lobby was a great little hub to chill out. Nice to get a coffee and play with kids. The cafe was great.
Disliked: The kids area and eating area was a bit tired and shabby. They were short staffed so the evening menu weren't always reliable.

Very good location, lovely friendly...

Liked: The breakfast was very nice with plenty of choice.The youth hostel was in a good place and easy to drive to.
Disliked: The room and beds were very clean. The bathroom was clean, however the shower had slight mould but this didn't spoil our stay.

Disliked: The prices for a hostel were excessive. £7.50 for 2 coffees and £17 for 2 pints and 2 cordial juices. One bottle of pop was £2.99. Over priced
