Overall good value. Great location,...

Liked: Location is very convenient. Facilities are basic but suited my requirements. FWIW I booked again for a few weeks later. Return customer :-)
Disliked: Facilities were dated but were ok.Probably the main gripe I had was the TV wasn't working properly.

Worst Hotel Experience, inflated score

Disliked: The hotel asks for 5 star reviews to extend the checkout, hence artificially inflated higher score. The fridge was loud, the lights that you cannot turn off kept us up at night, poor sound insulation, and the room and the hotel had a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming vibe. Worst hotel experience of my life, and I'm usually quite chil and tolerant. I do not recommend.

Very good

Liked: Excellent location. Close to Southern Cross train station, Chinatown and free inner-city tram stop. The room was small (as the 'shoe box' title infers), but perfectly sufficient for 1 or 2 travellers who are planning on spending most of their time out and about and who just want a comfortable haven to sleep. Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean - water was wonderfully hot to soothe post-sight seeing aches. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
