Liked: Very clean and very friendly. Attentive staff.
Disliked: Allocating dog friendly rooms at the top of several, steep staircases. Our 12 yr old Spaniel struggled and had to be carried. Not easy.

Liked: great location, very friendly and attentive staff, helped us find a parking space and helped with bags. Room was clean, lovely four poster bed.
Disliked: The shower could have been better, low water pressure and temperature, otherwise all good

Excellent short break hotel and...

Liked: Location couldn’t be better. Staff helpful. Walks direct from hotel. hotel can provide breakfast, lunch and dinner if wanted.

Liked: The location was excellent & the staff very good and very accomodating
Disliked: Hotel very tired looking, room was very basic as was the bathroom.I didn't like that although there were tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There were only paper cups supplied nor really the standard expected given the price of the accomodation.There was no ambience, all very basic.

Lovely little get away and...

Liked: Loved the location of the hotel in the lovely setting of Dunster. Shame about the parking Staff friendly and helpful . Sadly could not accommodate us for dinner as it they had finished service , which we thought was quite early.They did however recommend a pub.
Disliked: Just the lack of parking.. but a busy place

Fabulous location, mediocre experience

Liked: The outside of the hotel, the view up to the castle, the 4 poster, comfortable bed.The location was phenominal and slap bang in the middle of this wonderful village of Dunster.
Disliked: This is a tired hotel and even given its age it couldnt be excused by calling it just quaint. I'm sorry to give this review because there were lots of good things but the not so good outweighed them. The tables in the breakfast room were that sticky tired old table sort, the food was okay but quite pricey and the decor was dated. Even in an old building it's possible to update in keeping.
