Liked: Breakfast included (proper B&B) is a rarity. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are great. Location is fantastic very central to Dublin and great for gigs at The Academy on Middle Abbey Street. Room bathrooms well appointed and clean. Good hot water and water pressure.
Disliked: Location - this is not a great very safe part of Dublin. Mobbed by folks waiting for LUAS and homeless. getting into and out of hotel. If you're a smoker you're on the street. Saw a guest begged for cigarettes 3 times in 5 minutes. Beds not the best, a bit flat and springy. Noise: Until the LUAS stops at 11 or midnight and after the 5 or 6 AM start, makes the building shake as it passes, noise and vibration. I haven't stayed in the newly renovated rooms on the first floor, but I don't like the doors or the lock or the physical key with 2 pound keychain ... didn't feel very secure. Despite a menu at the entrance, no restaurant for dinner (bar carvery closed at 5 pm), bar closed on return to the hotel at 10pm - disappointed.
