Disliked: Rooms were of very poor quality. The room was cold l, heating didn't turn up even when turned up from 1 to 5. Bed was uncomfortable and room smelt damp.

Liked: We stayed here for our anniversary, our second visit, the last being 6 years ago. It's by far my favourite place near Sheffield, Immaculately clean and well maintained while keeping all of its history, every room has something to tell about its historical links to the trade unions and workers it was used by.The food is mostly grown on site so is seasonal and EXCELLENT! Rooms are warm and comfortable and the beds comfortable. The staff are friendly and hard working. All in all it's an absolute gem of a hotel and a refreshing piece of genuine nostalgia in a frantic modern world. I hope this place stays like this forever.
