WE HAD AN INTERESTING STAY...

Liked: FREINDLY STAFF, EASY CHECK IN AND OUT, ATMOSPHERE WAS NICE AND COSY.HAVING A WASHING MACHINE AND CLOTHES DRYER WAS CONVENIENT.SHORT DRIVE FROM NICE EATERY.
Disliked: LOCKING THE FRONT DOOR WAS VERY HARD. WE HAD TO LIFT THE DOOR UP WHEN LOCKING IT.THERE WERE LOTS OF SMALL INSECTS GETTING THROUGH THE FLY SCREEN.ROSE GARDEN HAD THE SMELL OF ANIMAL FECES AND I HAD TO LOOK WHERE I WAS WALKING.

Comfortable rustic cottage on a...

Liked: The best part was the ability to stay on a historic estate and.walk around when no-one else is around. Interesting old buildings and beautiful rose garden.Accommodation is comfortable but fairly rustic. Everything is clean and comfortable, but not special. Sitting area is fairly basic in terms of furnishings. Bedroom upstairs was large and comfortable. Kitchen has enough for a night or so.
Disliked: Understand that the cottage is old, but a bit of maintenance is required.

Disliked: very little extra to add to depth of thestay, ie no games, local leaflets on places to visit, dine etc.Sitting area uncomfortable and bare - furniture for dining old and bit tatty and unsuitably large for the quaint space avail. Wer have stayed there before many years ago and felt it much more enjoyable and welcoming before the new visitors centre etc had been opened. Felt time and energy now spent in that area (forgotten name). Not really value for $550 for 2 nights even considering the history of the estate. Sorry to sound negative but we will not be going back to stay there.

Liked: We didn't know what to expect but on arrival we were were just "wowed " with what we experienced! The cabin we stayed in was a step back in time and the grounds and Rose garden were sensational
Disliked: Would have been nice to be able to have dinner in the restaurant. However, understand that atm it is not set up to stay open all day. Either way it's not a complaint.

Liked: Such a beautiful place to stay. We explored the estate using the self guided tour book and had a wonderful time wandering around the rose garden early in the morning. We left feeling refreshed and relaxed. Highly recommend.
