Very mixed feelings about staying...
Liked: The history of the Estate. We liked the self-guide booklet. The chicken and roosters, the rose garden. The bathroom was clean and water hot. The bed was comfortable.
Disliked: The insects that found their way into the house, especially the beetles that came in from the gaps in the floor/door. The cottage was old so you would expect creaks, but the stairs were dreadfully noisy, especially as the bathroom was downstairs. The curtains and blinds were very dusty. Tasmania is very dry but the weeds around the cottage and grass could have been tidied. We were not aware on booking that the restaurant and house tours would not be available Mon - Tues when we stayed. Guests should be warned to bring bottled water.

Booking.com is crap
Liked: I did not stop there because Booking.com made a complete balls-up of the event. They sent me a confirmation message then two hours later I got a call from the property to say they couldn’t understand how I’d booked a room because they didn’t have the room free. I was then left to cancel the room and find somewhere else. The cancellation was anything but easy and then Booking.com threatened me with a cancellation fee. I have spoken to the property who say they will not charge, but nothing at all from Booking.com, just this request for my feedback. It’s been stressful and lots of time wasted.
Disliked: They did not have a vacancy so I didn’t stay there.
