Late night fire alarms and...

Liked: The kitchenette was sufficient. It has a full sized refrigerator, large microwave, and a small 2-burner stovetop. The sink was a full kitchen sink. That was the primary reason of choosing this hotel. The room's heater kept the temperature at the setting I chose. It's far enough away from the Interstate that the noise is mitigated.There is an on-site Laundromat that is very reasonably priced. However, you cannot change the temperature of water or the dryer settings. Highly recommend bringing your own quarters! They frequently run out of quarters. For the price point I paid, it was amongst the cheapest accomodation in the Asheville area and this was the biggest priority for me, because I had a 12-night stay.
Disliked: My bed linens had a half-dozen cigarette burns on the thin comforter. At first I thought it was stains or insects, but upon further inspection it was indeed burns...two burns were actual holes burned into the linens. There was a roach in the room. After killing it, I took a picture and showed it to her management. They're aware of the roach problem and spray regularly. They entered my room number into a manila folder called "PEST CONTROL" with all the other complaints and said that they'd tell the pest control specialist to spray a little extra around my room.I had a 12-night stay. The fire alarm system went off 7 times during this time frame. 4 times during the daytime, 3 times after 11pm. I heard a host of reasons from management:- fire alarm system malfunctioning- people smoking in rooms- people cooking in rooms and burning foodThey said it's a recent problem, however....I had to sign an agreement upon check-in regarding the fire alarm system that I would not engage in behaviors that would trigger the fire alarm and if I did, I would be financially liable for a series of increasingly penalizing fines...the fire trucks are called to the hotel when the fire system goes off. So to me, to have drafted up a legal agreement regarding the fire alarms that guests must sign upon check-in -- that is an indicator that the problem is widespread and a long-term problem....not a recent problem. I think management has a challenging job and does the best they can, given the circumstances.

Disappointing experience at Woodspring!

Liked: The staff was nice.
Disliked: My room has bugs in it. I ended up with hives while staying there. Additionally, the hotel is very noisy in that you hear stomping on the floor above and in the hallway all night long. I would have never stayed at Woodspring if I was told about the bugs. The staff said that the bugs were “seasonal.”

Liked: Tbh I was a bit nervous to stay here after I saw all the bad reviews but it was honestly great, easy check in, nice receptionist, room was perfectly fine, clean, and look like an average hotel room, minus the big fridge and stove top but obviously this is an extended stay hotel. Beds were comfy, felt very safe, the location was good. Easy checkout, all was well. I’d honestly probably come back.
Disliked: Walls were thin, could hear a lot but I mean it’s not a big deal

Disliked: Room was sparsely furnished. Only one nightstand, NO lamps ( only a ceiling light that glared), no hairdryer. Room was equipped with stove, full size fridge and microwave, yet there was no coffee pot or coffee making supplies.
