A wonderful stay in a...

Liked: Beautiful property, sympathetically restored, warm, comfortable and meticulously clean.The room was very stylishly appointed with a very comfortable bed with good linen. The bathroom well lit with an abundance of quality towels and toiletries. Well stocked coffee/tea and a full bottle of organic milk. Good black out blinds and very peaceful. The restaurant was fabulous, we had probably the best dinner we have had in some time. The chef is talented and creative, the service excellent.The staff are outstanding- they seem to be very happy in their work and it shows.We arrived early and were immediately accommodated to get ready for an event. My wife felt a little under the weather after a very early start and the lovely receptionist thoughtfully came to the rescue with water and snacks.
Disliked: There was nothing to fault

Fantastic place

Liked: The room was fantastic, fantastic views and a great size for all of us. Food was amazing. A huge choice for breakfast. We brought our dog who was looked after just as much as us. The staff couldn't do enough for all of us. Several excellent walks to do and the hotel even provide wellies if you don't want to get muddy!
Disliked: The steam room wasn't working when we were there. The pool was quite small and extremely busy at times with a couple of members determined to get their laps in taking up a large portion of the pool. Felt like an intruder just getting in their way.

Wonderful stay at Wood Hall.

Liked: Wood Hall staff were amazing, so attentive and polite, our room overlooked the gardens and had a wonderful view. The spa facilities were very good. Pool was clean and tidy.. The food was really impressive, we had the drawing room to ourselves for our meal which was really appreciated. We will certainly be back.. Such an amazing hotel on our doorstep.

Liked: Fresh well cooked and presented. Good quality artisan bread, local jams,
Disliked: We could have done with a reading lamp in the bedroom to enable working. The lighting was very ‘atmospheric’ but impossible to work on a laptop.
