Quintessential country house stay, with...

Liked: All of the staff were wonderful, you could tell they all cared. The hotel is a beautiful old house with beautiful gardens and a great view of the nearby hills! I loved all the Christmas decorations! Our room was huge, plenty space for the kids to run off some steam and they loved the bunkbeds. The bathroom was modern with a great shower and a handy mirror light. It was easy to make the room warm too. The breakfast was delicious! They have a fancy coffee machine and lots of tea options. The pastries were fresh and the cooked breakfast options were yummy. We had dinner in the evening, the kids loved their chicken tenders.
Disliked: The meal took quite a while to come out, but it was early so we didn’t mind. The actual burger patty could have been better, but the meal was fine.

Ok stay and quite good...

Liked: Hotel was well heated . Room was quite acceptable. Breakfast staff were very good .Great old building with nice grounds .
Disliked: First room we were offered was like a prison cell . We only just managed to park as parking on first come basis . Alternative public car park was far too far away , so always a worry when we arrived back at the hotel.Hotel communal areas were far too bright and lacked any atmosphere especially as it was Christmas.

Liked: Beautiful property, lots of choices for breakfast which were constantly being refilled.We stayed in one of the annexes and it was only a short walk to the hotel itself. Lots of space in the room and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Room had a stain on the carpet and a hole in the ceiling and the shower would flow in front of the sink even with a mat down. The tv in the room could be better placed as you cannot see it well from the bed as it is on the other side of the room.
