Nice hotel but room for...
Liked: Nice hotel and spa with friendly staff.Clean and comfortable. Great location a few minutes walk from the town.Main communal areas very pleasant.
Disliked: Wouldn't class as 4 star, bedroom a little tired in places.Restaurant food uninspiring and quality poor (had to complain about main course).

Perfectly adequate place to stay,...
Liked: The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful, easy to access and close to the hotel entrance. The shower was good - spacious, warm good water pressure. The toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, tissues) were good. The food from the restaurant menu was mostly very good (though a bit pricey). Recommend the egg in nest, and they did a good hot chocolate with Bailey's.
Disliked: The lady at the spa desk could have perhaps been a little more forthcoming with info on how it all worked (towel/robe hire, lockers etc.). There was also some confusion about bar/restaurant dining, we ate from the restaurant menu on both nights, but went to the wrong area on the second night because we must have been seated in the wrong area on the first night and we tried to go back there again - we ended up being taken back through the lobby to sit in the actual 'restaurant' but it just felt like a soulless 'end of the night' wedding venue. The glasshouse/bar (still not sure what was what) had a much nicer atmosphere. The tap water is awful, so tea made in the room was nasty. Apart from the extra toiletries, the room facilities weren't any better or worse than a standard Premier Inn. We did use the hydro pool (weren't quick enough to book any treatments), but the whole spa experience was odd, and felt like a waste of time and money, even though it was only £10 each for an hour. It's a bit far out of town - which I knew when I booked, but I'd be inclined to stay in town next time.
