Room stank of cigarettes

Disliked: On arrival we had to pay an extra £30 for our small dog to stay. We did not get told this at time of booking. We then got to our room and it stank of cigarettes. It was a very strong smell of cigarettes too, we informed the lady at reception who said their was an executive suite above us and they may be smoking on the balcony. We didn't get offered to move rooms. We paid £175 altogether for one night after paying for all the extras. I would of expected a little better for this price

Liked: Friendly staff, easy and efficient to check in. Room had all we needed.
Disliked: Price a little high when compared to similar hotels. Room was a little tired, shower head was past it's best.

A wonderful relaxing stay, we...

Liked: Beautiful setting and a beautiful hotel, the decor is really nice and very calming. The staff are extremely pleasant and very helpful, we love the staff! The food was fantastic also, I had Blade of Beef and it was so tender and delicious.
Disliked: The hiring of towels and robes for the spa, I feel this should be complimentary. Not a huge issue but our tv had an issue with the screen as if it had damage as all channels were the same.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Lesley Sat, 21 December 2024

Disappointing on many levels.

Liked: Great location. The size of room was great, the staff all very efficient and food very good, although numerous items missing from menu.
Disliked: The bed and pillows were solid. I had no sleep on the first night of 3 and my back was terrible the next day that I nearly packed to return home, but didn't expect I'd have a chance of a refund. My husband had a massage and the bed undone all that good work by the therapist . It was like sleeping on ply wood. All chairs in the room, or around the hotel are extremely uncomfortable. So to sit in the restaurant to relax wasn't possible. I was glad to finish my meal to try and get comfortable elsewhere. The toilet seat doesn't fit correctly and someone could easily fall off there as it slides off to the side as you sit down. The hydrotherapy pool has some jets not working and the water is rather tepid once in. The seating around there is also very tired and needs upgrading. The steam room was extremely hot and everybody in there commented on how bad it was. The sauna seating has been screwed from the outer seated area with the screw heads exposed which conduct heat and cause burns to the skin. Having to book every slot is inconvenient. We didn't want a scheduled break but it was necessary even though there wasn't another booking that day! There is a poster of Great Britain, in the glasshouse, showing their other hotel locations, but they don't seem to know that "Ynys Môn/Isle Of Anglesey" is part of the UK as it has been omitted from the map!

Liked: lovely clean, polite staff..
Disliked: bed was like a slab of rock as where the pillows, and the duvet just about covered the bed.. also drinks very expensive, £17.25 for a single and a double vodka with mixer..
