Liked: The breakfast is good but we had to wait for eggs and yogurt.slightly
Disliked: Slightly better service at breakfast.

A potentially lovely hotel marred...

Liked: Location was ideal. Right in the heart of the town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and spotless, and be was very comfortable.
Disliked: Beautiful wood panelled dining room for breakfast and dinner, BUT intrusive, loud pop music playing all the time. This and the brightness of the lighting put us off having dinner here. The bar area was even more brightly lit, giving it a very harsh, unrelaxing atmosphere . Sad, because there was an area with an open fire unsed.

Exceptional

Loved Alnwick, The White swan...

Liked: Location was superb, right in the middle of town and near the castle. The Olympic dining room was what we went for and it exceeded our expectations. Evening meal was fabulous, staff were fabulous. Rooms were comfy and clean. Breakfast was ample.
Disliked: The only criticism was the bar closed early. We had to get the receptionist to serve our drinks. The coffee machine in the bar was closed too.

Disliked: I booked a superior room, but it was no where near what I expected.The furniture is in need of replacement, the windows wouldn’t open and had damp on them.The bath taps and plug appeared to need replacing.The main bedroom floor was uneven.This room needs refurbished.Breakfast was ok but the guests were continually asking for more food and plates to be topped up.
