Great food and drinks

Liked: The pub and food were exceptionally good. Great drinks, pub looks stunning and the food was excellent and hearty portions. Staff were faultless. Good selection of teas and coffees in the room and a Tassimo machine too. Very dog friendly.
Disliked: Room was very clean but perhaps a little spartan if being critical and there was a lot of noise from the bar. I did get a good nights sleep though once the pub closed.

Liked: Breakfast was delicious and great value for money, staff super helpful.
Disliked: We had to move rooms as the shower in our original room was leaking to downstairs area.

Lovely staff, good food great...

Liked: Really comfortable bed with quality bedding great duvet. Really friendly and exceptionally helpful staff. Size of room really good including a lounge area. Bit too big for just one night but chosen as it was en-suite. Decor choices weee really good except the volume of plastic plants!
Disliked: It identifies as a hotel but it’s a pub with rooms above. So Saturday lunchtime check in was dealt with quickly but the bar area was really busy, good sign but there was no dedicated checking area as it was at the bar. So left getting in the way at the bar with luggage as parking is a walk away. Both the bedroom and bathroom have suffered with damp. It is an old building and the bathroom not that well ventilated and the small shower cubicle could do with a really good clean of the grout and water collection areas. The areas affected definitely need arts too and redecoration. So for £160 a night with breakfast a room above a pub was a bit over priced. But seems to be a the going rate locally. But as we were the only occupants it’s not that well priced.
