Overpriced and underdelivered

Liked: I liked the location which is the prime reason I chose it, as I was attending a seminar the next day at the Showground. I was given the bridal suite, presumably as that was the only room left which for one person was a little "de trop" but fun. The views were spectacular.
Disliked: The lack of signage to reception, where to eat breakfast, it was like an initiative test to get in and out! The person checking me in obviously was not au fait with the system and so asked me later for my CDC number? The television in my room did not work (but this was replaced), the dinner was overpriced for an unremarkable meal and as for breakfast I was appalled at the fact that a cooked one was extra! Cold meats, fruits etc wrapped in clingfilm. Very poor value for money!

Exceptional

A lovely mini break, in...

Liked: The apple juice at breakfast was excellent, as was the rest of the food on offer. On arrival we had an afternoon tea which was sublime. The room we slept in was furnished to a very high standard and the king sized bed was luxurious.
Disliked: A longer stay would have been better

Absolutely superb room, good service,...

Liked: The luxury suite room was amazing, absolutely massive, with a four poster exceptionally comfortable bed, and all the facilities in the room, very nice ensuite, a television that worked etc. Good views, quiet. exceptional room. See photos! Pleased to have a member of staff volunteer to take our luggage up three long flights. Pleased that we didn't coincide with a wedding or event.
Disliked: Three floors to climb, no lift, is a bit of a disadvantage we perhaps didn't fully expect. Two floors down for breakfast, which was continental with the rate we had paid, cooked breakfast extra - but at least we had the choice and were not paying for something we didn't want. We were not sure whether we had found the hotel reception or just the restaurant. But overall nothing significant! Still exceptional!
