Ok hotel in a fabulous...

Liked: Great check in and warm welcome, great view from the room. Lovely surroundings, and imagine in summer great for walking and golfing as right on the golf course..Great Breakfast service, host very helpful. Restaurant in a lovely setting, food ok.
Disliked: No lift in the separate building and I was on 3rd floor, luckily overnight bag wasn't very heavy, floor creaked when walking around the room, so I could hear next door and they could hear me, no hairdryer (didn't need one so didn't ask for one) but should have been there. In need of some modernising and could be fabulous. Directions to the rooms in the other building in the entrance hall were sparse , all doors were closed with no signage that I could see to the rooms. So by process of elimination managed to find my way.

Overall it was a good...

Liked: Room was clean very spacious, Bed was very uncomfortable, both me and my daughter daid the same. Was a little suprised I had to pay £15.00 each for me and my daughter to use the spa - pool/jacuzzi/ steam room. I have stayed in many hotels and these basics are included in with the booking..
Disliked: Bed was really uncomfortable

Liked: Not alot thought it was a rip off
Disliked: Everything and to think we fort we was staying on the island bit was a joke! To single beds pushed together and microwave breakfast left in hotplate to go cold

Superb

It was a pleasent weekend....

Liked: Location was lovely. Surrounded by a Golf Course, lake etc. Lounge Area very pleasent, comfy seats. Food was delicious. Staff all very pleasent. Spa massage very relaxing and professional
Disliked: Spa: pool a little chilly and would be better with Loungers. The hotel was a little dated in places. Room had no kettle (minor) and the lights failed and didn’t get repaired so had to use table lamps which meant no light in the bathroom. Whilst the singer was very good she was very close to our dining table so we couldn’t talk. She graciously apologised but hotel should have thought of the volume. Wine by the glass? Ouch to expensive.

We love this hotel with...

Liked: Beautiful location. Good restaurant and breakfast. Good size rooms. Great courteous, helpful staff.
Disliked: Cleaning could be improved. More attention to detail, there were some surfaces such as a table that had not been cleaned. Furniture not being moved to hoover. Very few products shampoo etc. Unlike our previous stay you now have to pay £25 pp to use the pool. I think as guests there shouldn’t be a charge for this. There are some outside jacuzzi’s maybe just charge for these as an extra?

Wedding party

Liked: Stayed for a wedding party. As the party was in the main house and we were staying in the Hall, the receptionist kindly relocated us to the hotel as the weather was bad and to avoid us getting wet, very thoughtful gesture 😀 Room was large and warm and had proper Yorkshire teabags, bonus!
Disliked: Nothing really,. Just a personal thought about lighting as not really positioned well for women who are staying and need to get made up. The room we had was quite dark, however it's an old style hotel and I'm sure womens make up needs weren't prioritised way back then 😁
