Disliked: The staff would start making noise in the hallways very early, you could hear doors closing loudly from 8am

Liked: Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good location. Interesting history! The decor in the lobby and ground floor is very attractive and welcoming.
Disliked: Upstairs corridors look tired and the carpets look worn.The lift is small.No help with getting the bags to the room.No breakfast!Bar closed early and wasn't available when we returned after a meal at 10pm!

Liked: The location was perfect. It was our first time in New York and we are so glad we chose this area to stay in. Greenwich Village is a destination in itself but it was also so easy to travel to upper and lower Manhattan from there and the subway was about a minute’s walk from the hotel.
Disliked: We had one of the cheaper rooms and I had read in the reviews that some of the rooms looked out onto a brick wall. And we ended up in one of those. It really didn’t bother us for the time we were there as we were out most of the time and it may actually have been quieter than the rooms facing the street but if I’d been staying more than a couple of days I think I’d have started feeling a bit claustrophobic.

Liked: The location was perfect, the subway station is right on the corner, about 1min walk from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the whole hotel had a lovely atmosphere of the 1920s.
Disliked: The shower which only had a fabric cover resulting in water spilling on the floor.

Liked: This hotel's location was exactly what we wanted, close to NYU, Washington Square Park, in the the East Village. It was a lovely old hotel, the staff was friendly. I could not have been happier.
Disliked: No complaints.

Sweet hotel in a great...

Liked: This is a sweet hotel in an excellent location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was bright and clean. Because I was traveling with a friend we needed a room with two beds and this room was perfect. Price was reasonable too!
Disliked: The attached restaurant was fairly ho-hum.
