Liked: FABULOUS.. A wonderful renovation of the old warders accommodation, Tastefully done-and I really like the sparking water on tap!!

Disliked: The staff serving at gimlet in the morning were so rude, but of a dampener on the stay. No manners, slow and just plain rude to everyone

Fantastic stay in Freo!

Liked: Great location, excellent rooms with character. Towelling robes would have been a great touch!

A comfortable, relaxing room in...

Liked: We loved the quirkiness of this renovated place. It still kept the essence of the old building, but was super modern with a stunning bathroom and we particularly liked the magnified mirror in there . We appreciated the taps with water in the room too!! Just loved it!
Disliked: There was nothing about the property or staff we didn’t like or could improve. If anything, all we could say is it was very pricey for one night’s stay, but because it was for hubby’s birthday- we splashed out a little. No regrets about that at all.

Wonderful and will definitely be...

Liked: Great location, wonderful property, breakfast in the cafe every morning was lovely. Really nice property. Delicious restaurants within walking distance. Markets are just round the corner as was other tourist attractions.
Disliked: Reception said that the mini bar would be replenished on the 3rd day but only the milk was replaced. And a very small criticism would be that a full length mirror in the property would be great. Apart from that we had a wonderful stay.

Disliked: I thought the breakfast voucher could have been a little more substantial than a pastry and coffee but gimlet was a quaint place.

Above average but bed as...

Liked: Location and cleanliness. Nice staff.
Disliked: The hotel was fine, clean etc but there was one serious fault in room number 41U, that we were allocated.The actual bed was too big for the room, to the point that it was not possible to easily access one side of the bed due to its proximity to the adjacent wall where there was an old fireplace with a protruding mantlepiece. It meant I had to sidle along sideways to access/egress the bed while holding onto the fireplace mantlepiece.Really, with respect, it left the room not fit for quite a number of people, especially those like ourselves, retired seniors.As we were only staying two nights we didn't make a fuss or ask for a change of room.  However, we mentioned this to Laura at reception who talked about the heritage site and constraints in the room, but to put it simply, the  bed was too large whereby a sightly smaller bed would have solved this issue.

Disliked: Aircon broken in one room - was locked to low fan and warm temp - very uncomfortable.
