Very friendly staff

Liked: Very impressive main building. The Grange is functional and comfortable, if a little basic.Overall always a nice friendly place to stay.
Disliked: I’m not sure I would necessarily feel safe staying on my own in The Grange building.

Ideal for a short trip,...

Liked: Whilst we were in the separate Grange building, it was still a nice enough building, nothing too fancy, but more modern than the main hotel. The grounds were very pleasant, and there was a breakfast buffet. It was ideally located for us getting to a wedding nearby, but getting taxis back after was difficult, and expensive.
Disliked: The inside of the main building, which is where we had breakfast, did look old, and worn out. Large cracks throughout the breakfast room, chipped paint - all of which you expect from old country buildings but makes me wonder what the hotel rooms in the main building are like. Breakfast was alright, but the topping up of the buffet items wasnt as regular as i would have liked. With the beauty of the gardens that the hotel is in, the interior of the building lets it down

A nice hotel, which could...

Liked: Excellent location, beautiful property and well kept grounds. The staff were all friendly and very helpful both at check in and check-out.
Disliked: My room was quite some way from reception and one needed to traverse a maize to reach it. Although the room was clean and had a good powerful shower, TV, hairdryer, kettle, coffee / tea etc, and an ironing board, it was tired. The safe was broken / unusable and the shower had no shelf so no where to put shampoo or body wash. The breakfast was said to open at 7.30, but in reality, it didn’t open until with hot food until 7.45, by which time I had drunk a cup of tea and had some toast.

It served a purpose which...

Liked: The staff were really helpful and friendly. We bought lunch at the hotel which was very nice. The hotel grounds are beautiful.
Disliked: Our room was very cold. In the night the heating went off and we were absolutely freezing. There was a portable heater, but that took a good while to heat up. The breakfast wasn't nice at all. I understand the restaurant is being decorated, but I expected better and was very disappointed.

Over all, a really good...

Liked: A beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and went the extra mile to ensure that our stay came up to expectations.
Disliked: The only real downside was the quality of the pillows. The fact that the only room available with a walk in shower was an accessible room was also a bit of a letdown.

Done the job

Liked: Gorgeous grounds and was clean
Disliked: Shower - only had scalding hot water. Unable to control the temperature Sink - plug was jammed in so couldn’t really use the sink as the water wouldn’t drainOn first arrival, the French doors were open which led to outside which was off putting from a security point of view as a solo traveller
