The lodge has 7 rooms all can be double with 6 having super king beds five rooms have the option of being twin rooms. Each room has its own private conservatory and en-suite along with an outside deck to sit on. The lodge offers a full breakfast with their signature dish being 'Posh Porridge'. There is a cafe open 10:00 to 14:00 where quests can enjoy a selection of foods from Japanese salads to Croque Monsuier to a NZ favorite the giant cheese roll. Packed lunches are available for cyclists doing the cycle trail. Dinner is three courses the first being a snack on arrival in followed by two courses designed around local produce. Bike hire can be arranged and there are many other sports in close proximity including Awakino Ski field 3 golf courses excellent salmon and trout fishing and hunting by arrangement.

A real gem which delivers...

Liked: A great breakfast/brunch menu available and the cafe is centrally located. It really is a home away from home. Very friendly staff, great food and wine plus the CEO Ollie the terrier who is great company.

Disappointing

Disliked: The owner confirmed our booking the day before by asking about dietary needs. Three hours before arrival she told us it was double booked and our booking was cancelled. We had booked this nine months before and were surprised our booking was the one to be cancelled. Other lesser accommodation was eventually found. The food was nice but very pricey.

Liked: Kate the owner is an amazing host and an amazing cook. Dinner and breakfast was awesome Old historic building is a very special place to stay , With lovely outdoor gardens All staff were very friendly and accommodating
Disliked: The room was small with no aircon and limited space to store, hang your belongings
