A very nice, relaxed place (great orchids throughout the public areas). The staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel restaurant was outstanding. Instead of the usual overpriced, mediocre rubber-chicken stuff you usually encounter in a hotel restaurant, the food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The portions were more than ample, and the prices were very reasonable. If you are going to the Doheny Blues Festival (or anything else in the vicinity) and want a relaxing retreat away from the crowds, check this place out.

Liked: Everything else. The room was large for the price (especially on a concert weekend) - very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Excellent value.
Disliked: Two minor bathroom quibbles: shower could use a door (current setup looks cool, but is somewhat impractical). Also, please add towel racks, hooks, something to hang things on.

Good in some ways and...

Liked: A large, very clean room. The onsite restaurant and bar were very good with helpful, pleasant staff.
Disliked: The room we had faced the freeway and the noise from the freeway was loud despite the double pane windows (at all hours). A west facing room should be much more quiet. The coffee service consisted on only tiny expresso cups and an expresso maker. We bought coffee from the restaurant which should not have been necessary. Also, there were no water glasses in our room for some reason.

Liked: The hotel staff was very friendly. Room had all I needed. Hotel facilities like parking and pool are nice. Hotel location is amazing.
Disliked: Room doors do not have rubber lining which makes you hear every single door closing on your floor of stay. Water pressure in the shower is very weak (I stayed twice, once on the 4th floor and a second time on the second floor.
