Incompetent staff, noisy building
Liked: If this was a 2 star hotel at half the price, my expectations would have been aligned. The very basic thing I would expect from a 4 star hotel is to be able to have decent sleep. But the room was noisy (cars outside), for which their solution is a cute note by the bed saying exactly: “we care about your sleep, if the room is too noisy, please use the earplugs in the drawer…” (there were none). The second very basic thing is would expect is helpful staff. The first night when I checked in the receptionist was annoyed that my surname is hard to pronounce, and he let me know by taking at least 5 min to write it down (wrongly) on the invoice, even having my ID on his hand. It took him three trials (literally). The next night I had an very bad migraine, and it was by night. I went downstairs for help finding and open pharmacy or some ibuprofen. Their help was limited to doing the same Google search I did in my room and telling me to take a cab, drive for an hour to the nearest open pharmacy.Las but not leader, they barely clean the rooms while someone is staying in.

Pleasant
Disliked: Misleading Room DescriptionDuring my stay at Victor's Residenz-Hotel Berlin Mitte, I was assigned a room that did not match the description of my reservation. Instead of a room with a park view, as indicated at the time of booking, I was given a room facing the back of the building, overlooking an apartment complex. However, when making my reservation through Booking.com, the room description explicitly mentioned a "view," and the accompanying photo depicted a room overlooking the park.Upon raising my concerns with the receptionist, I was informed that all rooms have a "view"—some facing the apartment complex and others facing the park. Despite my explanation that the room I received did not align with the advertised description, the receptionist refused to provide me with a room that matched my booking. Instead, I was told that if I wanted a park-view room, I would need to pay an additional fee. As a result, I was unfairly required to pay extra to receive the room I had booked. Furthermore, during check-out, another receptionist dismissed my concerns, stating that the hotel was not responsible for any discrepancies between the Booking.com listing and the actual room assignment. He claimed that Booking.com was responsible for assigning the photos and descriptions. Moreover, like the receptionist at check-in, the receptionist at check-out insisted that rooms facing apartment buildings are still considered "view" rooms. Regardless of these explanations, the fact remains that I was misled by the booking information and unfairly charged for a room that should have been provided in accordance with my reservation.
