Liked: staff-- so helpful and friendly. the view was great -- 8th floor so not very high but there are no buildings right next to the hotel that would block the view; location great for bars, restaurants, window shopping. We walked to Lincoln Park and the Chicago History Museum, past a Frank Lloyd Wright house (actually called the Charnley-Persky House Museum) and Astor St. historical district. The river walk is a bit of a hike but worth it because the hotel neighborhood (near north side/gold coast) was so walkable, a bit more mellow but still definitely in the city. Also, more restaurants are open beyond business hours (i.e. weekends) near the Viceroy compared with the Riverwalk area. Lou Malnati's right next door, a few markets within a block or two. Bed was very soft which I prefer. Never heard our neighbors -- very quiet.

Liked: Loved everything about this hotel, lovely warm welcome from Mark the concierge, room was gorgeous, lovely breakfast and cocktails on the 18th floor

Disliked: Dirt and mildew in the shower, dust on a rug and plastic stuff under the bed. Bathroom kit very small, no bar soap, no slippers/bathrobe available. Coffee machine is not working properly.
