Liked: Even though the check-in time was late, they proactively sent an email in advance with instructions on how to retrieve the keys.The room where luggage was stored has cameras and a password lock, making it reliable and secure. However, it does require some strength to carry items up and down the stairs.The overall environment is quiet and peaceful, and the location is also quite convenient.
Disliked: Taking a shower may feel a bit chilly.

Very good hostel

Liked: Very clean and well-organized hostel, cottage style. Shared bathrooms are in very good condition, as well as the kitchen. Staff are also very nice and helpful. Close to supermarkets and well-known foodie streets.
Disliked: It’s not right next to the city center (15-min walk), but it’s still OK.

Liked: Lovely homely hostel next to a beautiful park, definitely one of the best city hostels I stayed in. Nice, clean, and quiet, the guests were all very respectful and relaxed. Campbell the owner was really kind and fun to chat with. Thank you!

Love Verandahs!

Liked: We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Verandahs Parkside Lodge. Right from check-in we were made to feel welcome. The buildings have been beautifully restored and feel fresh and clean. Lots of small features that make the accommodation feel luxe. Our room was a great size and spotless. Very comfortable bed. Various spaces to unwind. On a rainy Auckland day we felt happy to go back and relax in a nice environment. Kitchen area was clean and well stocked.
Disliked: The office closes between 12 and 2 which is a bit awkward. The kitchen isn't massive but it's well and truly got everything you'd want.
