Very nice!
Liked: The location was close for taking the Sky Train to the Waterfront and for getting to the airport fairly quickly via the shuttle provided by the hotel.
Disliked: There were no Wifi login instructions provided (Wifi name and password); instead, you had to sign up to a Marriott Rewards Account to obtain Wifi access.

Liked: The hotel was very clean and the elevators worked!
Disliked: The frigid temperatures in the dining room and the extremely unusual layout of the room we were assigned are a couple of things we did not like.. After mentioned my concerns in an email, the manager (although apologetic) made no effort to compensate me for a very bad experience at the hotel. I booked this upscale hotel for an overnight stay before an early morning flight because the hotel had a dining room and a breakfast included in the hotel rate that we paid. We should have been refunded for at least the breakfast which could not be provided since we left at 6:00 AM for the airport. The restaurand did not open until 6:30 AM. which the manager said was standard policy for Marriot hotels. My response to that comment would be that it is fine for breakfast to be available starting at 6:30 for a resort hotel, but totally unacceptable for an airport hotel. As far as the frigid temperatures, why did the hotel not advise me of this when we checked in? Maybe even made arrangeents for another hotel?? I still suffer a serious cold after attempting to eat in the dining room! The Marriot chain of hotels is considered upscale accomodation. We paid a premium rate to experience this and this hotel did not follow through. On another note, I do not know what the architect was smoking when he designed the room we were assigned at this hotel. We literally had to pass through the bathroom (in full view of the toilet) to get from the sitting area to the sleeping area. I have seen funky designs for hotel rooms, but this room takes top honors! Maybe the hotel check-in staff did not like us for some reason, as this room was on the second floor directly across from the elevator and only assigned to guests that they did not want to see again?? I am not sure ...

Pleasant but disappointed stay
Liked: The breakfast was good. Convenient location. Room was fairly comfortable.
Disliked: Initially we were assigned a second floor room. When we asked the front desk to change it to a higher floor, she gave us an accessible room on the eighth floor. The room itself ok, but the shower was messy. There was no shower curb, and water was splattered all over underneath the shower curtain. I had to wipe dry the floor every time. We always stay at Marriott when we come to Vancouver. This is the first time I felt disappointed with the room. I hope next time I can request a higher floor in advance, and not given an accessible room without my request or consent.
