Liked: Myself and my elderly mother had no heating in our room.They tried to get maintenance to fix it, but he was unable to do so, I was shown another 3 rooms with no heating. The staff were very rude. Both duty manager Nick and front desk manager Caroline had a terrible attitude, not sympathetic. This 4-star hotel should be a 2 star. If they can't get a simple thing like heating right, then they don't deserve a 4-star rating. If a hotel with over 130 rooms couldn't find us a warm one after showing us 3 other rooms with no heating working tells me it's not maintained well and not checked before guests arrive. The upsetting thing was this was for my mothers birthday, which was spent in a cold room sleeping in our coats and dressing gowns. Please be aware when booking this hotel that the staff don't care about customer service and couldn't understand why I was so upset . I will say that paul, the maintenance man, tried really hard to help us, but he was fighting a losing battle. I'm awaiting my full refund. Excellent breakfast and dinner food was very hot. Rooms are tried, and need a full update stained carpet and worn furniture. I would have left the hotel, but they kept on saying they could sort it. We got to 11pm, which was too late to move my mother to another hotel. Please, please don't stay there if you want good service and a warm room.
