Housed in a former monastery from the Middle Ages this historic hotel is located on Lake Vättern in quaint Vadstena. Guests can relax with in the peaceful settings or at the on-site spa. Some are located in the monastery building while others are in a grand 19th-century building. Interesting one time visit.

Liked: Amazing history and religious connection.
Disliked: Difficult for people with disabilities. Room and public areas were dusty. Room make up only on request.

Nice room with large bathroom...

Liked: Good location near castle and for walks in town or along the lake. Nice restaurant but kind of pricey.
Disliked: Isolated separate building for room, breakfast served in a separate building to which you had to walk and reception/dining room in yet another separate building.

Fantastic historic town beautiful visit.

Liked: We stayed in the old stables. The room was beautifully decorated in an old style but everything was there that you would need. It’s a beautiful area full of history. The breakfast venue in the old monastery was amazing. Staff were very helpful, professional and polite.

Liked: We stayed in the small castle villa right next to the Vadstena castle and absolutely loved it. Really unique hotel, fantastic historic buildings and great meals.
Disliked: Booking through booking.com makes it hard to know where your accommodation will be, as the hotel's buildings are spread across the town.
