Great location with excellent pricing...
Liked: The location on La Grande Allee is superb especially if you stay here during winter carnival as many of the attractions are just a block away. It is surrounded by wonderful bars and restaurants and night clubs. The Conchon Dingue in the Concorde Hotel (half block away) is a great place to have breakfast or lunch with good food and reasonable prices. There is options for underground parking at the Concorde or at the Chateau Laurier both less than 5 mins away and only $25/day. The parking at the back of this hotel is outdoors and only for about 6 cars.Staff were friendly and helpful. It is about a 25-30 min walk (very easy) to get to the Chateau Frontenac area. We had no problem walking it.You have to remember that this is a 250 year old mansion (actually I think it is 3 or 4 buildings that make it up now...so you are staying in an old historic building with no amenities but wifi and a vending machine. But if you just want a comfy place to stay at a reasonable price...then there is nothing wrong with this hotel.
Disliked: We were there during a snow storm (31 cms and 37 cms) and got holed up in our room on third floor which was a queen sized bed only to sit on. There is no other comfy place in this small historic building to relax. It is your room or nothing. Also it may be nice if they actually made an attempt to shovel the front steps. 2 days and it was not done. We had to gingerly hang on to railings to navigate the steps. And just be forewarned that since this is an historic building there is no elevator. Just the way it is. Rooms on the first floor are fine but if you have a lot of luggage be forewarned that you need to carry it up yourself. There was no cleaning of room or replenishing of toilet paper or towels in the 3 night stay we had. We had to go get it ourselves.

Very good
Liked: As per usual, location, location, location
Disliked: It wasn't expected nor offered with the hotel booking, but a small, minimal prepared breakfast would have been welcomed.. like, already brewed coffee & some substance on the side for AM guests in pj's. Yes, there are coffee pouches, coffee maker, etc. in the room, but not my bag..gotta dress, go a few doors down to a hotel with the works.
