Couldn't wait to leave

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: I felt unsafe, a lot of undesirable people , especially congregating at the entrance and in the building , bad smell in the building, tiny tiny shower had to stand on the wall to catch the water from the shower head, the tv had the leg sticky taped on. I was actually horrified with the place.

Convenient but poor value

Liked: The location was great, close to public transport and the CBD. Staff were pleasant and efficient. We were able to get in to our room earlier than the checkin time, which was great. The bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: I don't understand how this place gets a 3 star rating. The photos on the listing do not represent our experience at all. The entrance hall smelled of insecticide, and our floor stank of cigarettes though we were in a no-smoking room. The room was barely clean, with what looked like bloodstains on the carpet. The room was dark, and the furniture was chipped/peeling. The bathroom was the smallest I've ever been in, which was fine. What was nasty was that old fittings had not been removed, and the toilet brush was not in a holder, just leaning against the wall. On arrival for a 3 night stay we found 1 single teabag, and only enough milk for 1 cuppa each. We asked the cleaner for additional tea and milk, which he promised us and didn't deliver, so we went without for 2 days. We were required to pay a $100 deposit which was deducted straight away, and not reimbursed for nearly a week after we departed. I wouldn't stay here again.

Fair

Liked: N/a
Disliked: I was not expecting the homeless people in the foyer when I came un after dark. I have no problem with homeless people and I believe there was a charity group there helping (maybe feeding) which is good to see. Personally I would have preferred to be made aware of that activity before I went out. It wouldn’t have made me choose another hotel. It just would have alerted me. Reception was not very pleasant at both interactions. Needs to show some interest in his work and the patrons.
