Excellent staff all around. Friendly and engaging every time we stay here. Everyone from the front desk to house keeping are top notch. On this stay Roberto and GM Joseph Macedo went above and beyond. TRYP Newark is the only place we will stay for our yearly visit back home.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing.

When we got to our room there was only one bed (thought I booked 2 beds); no chair and we had what looked like dried blood on our light switch! Called the front desk. They changed our room. We still had only 1 bed and when I pulled the bedding down there was hair in the bed. We were exhausted and made the best of it. Hoping never to go back!

Second time staying here. Would...

Liked: Nice hotel, nice room. Walkable from train station seeing as the shuttle never comes.
Disliked: Shuttle did not come. Called and asked where to get the shuttle they told me,we waited and it never came.

Comfortable & Convenient

Liked: Proximity to EWR & Newark Penn Station, comfort of the 2 Queen beds room, clean, spacious room with 2 comfortable Queen beds, comfortable/convenient bathroom, proximity to eating establishments, complimentary airport and Penn Station shuttle, courteous, professional and helpful front desk and shuttle staff.
Disliked: Nothing at all, this time. We have stayed at this hotel at least 6 times during the past several years (always reserving a 2 Queen beds room), but on one occasion they did not have that room and "upgraded" us to a Family Room, however it had only one bed, with extremely uncomfortable alternative "beds" - like a pull down from the wall bed - that had wooden slats and a too-rhin mattress - I was so uncomfortable that I barely slept that night. HOWEVER, we had previously been SO pleased with every aspect of our prior stays, with a 2 Queen beds room, that we decided to give it another try. Thus far, two additional stays led to us getting the 2 Queen beds room we had reserved.

Disliked: THE VALET IS RUDE!!! The guy pretty much yelled at us for the ticket instead of explaining what he needed! We handed him one and he yelled at us that it was the wrong one, instead of showing us what he needed! He then stood there waiting for a tip, like absolutely not, especially after disrespecting me and my sister! Worst experience ever!

Would not stay longer than...

Liked: Big rooms, comfortable bed, clean shower.
Disliked: Loud during the night. You could hear through the doors. Area (Newark) is not the best.Lack of Communication. No Email. Only to call but i have an international phone number which made it expensive. No answer on booking chat. Shuttle from the airport to the hotel is only every hours. During the night i‘m not sure how that works.The area is not very comforting. If you plan visiting NYC do it from somewhere else. Newark Penn Station at night is shady and you should not go there.

Nice place to stay, close...

Liked: The hotel was well-managed and well-kept. It is a modern facility with comfortable rooms, and it is very clean. There is on-site parking, which is a plus. It is an easy walk to the Newark train station from the hotel. Interesting Newark neighborhoods and good restaurants are within easy reach.
Disliked: We stayed here because we had events in both New Jersey and New York. The train ride to NYC is a little long. Also, it would be great if the restaurant could offer an a-la-carte breakfast at a more reasonable price.
