Very nice but has shortcomings...

Liked: Property kept very well given seaside location . All staff v friendly. Most staff excellent at job bar the reception( see below) . Shuttle between venues great, spa good , room well kept. Breakfast and service there excellent. Restaurants all good . Evening bagpiper was great.
Disliked: Generally disorganised in relation to event/ activities. Asked if horse riding booking was on as weather was bad at reception . They said yes and we all travelled down there in the shuttle to find it was cancelled ! Events we booked didn’t have space for us all when we turned up . Many staff didn’t know where activities were … . Also just found out about what was on a hotel for kids rather than being told. Pool could be warmer, didn’t get drinks we ordered in the bar before having to leave . Could do with an extra dining outlet if you are there extended stays . Bathrooms stating to look dated but well kept.

Liked: Luxurious hotel, with an amazing room which was very comfortable. Loved the underground access to leisure facilities also & bar area.
Disliked: Main course at the 1906 restaurant was not very nice. I had the turbort which was very dry & came with a slimy membrane on top which was not pleasant & I did not finish the meal. My wife & son did very much enjoy their full 3 courses. I mentioned this to waitress, who passed the comment on to the chef.

Amazing in every way

Liked: The property is impressive. From our arrival at the entrance to our departure, we received exceptional care from every member of the staff, who were both attentive and friendly. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the hotel facilities are impeccably clean.
Disliked: Nothing, it was unbelievable
