Liked: restaurant food was exceptional. Head barman/waiter service excellent.
Disliked: was expecting a room in the castle but had an outside suite -but it was excellent so not disappointed.

Exceptional

Stayed lots of times but...

Liked: LocationGood breakfast Very clean
Disliked: The bed was very small and uncomfortable

Superb

Liked: Good room, very helpful and friendly staff
Disliked: Couldn't close a window so had to turn a radiator on.

Perfect location

Liked: The hotel was beautiful. The drive up was really impressive. Staff were fantastic. Room was huge, clean and we had a bit of a sea view, even though we hadn’t requested one.
Disliked: There was no hot water in the morning in order for us to have a shower. Even running the water for a few minutes as advised didn’t help

Comfortable, great value, lovely facilities...

Liked: Great location, main building had lots of charm, new buildings had been created to compliment whilst making the most of the land. Really lovely hotel.
Disliked: Little thought had been given to moving between the main building and the converted/purpose built additional units especially with cases etc. difficult to put the heating on for a cold October morning.

Autumn getaway

Liked: Great location great restaurant
Disliked: bed a bit lumpy!

Passable

Liked: The location is stunning and walkable to St ives.
Disliked: Some of the fittings were shabby. The washbasin was cracked, The bunkbed was very old and a slat was broken. The meal we had in the olives restaurant was terrible. The squid was cold and oily, the noodle dish was very oily and the child's pasta was totally tasteless. Very disappointing. The swimming pool needs a major overhaul. Lovely old castle but needs a major overhaul to bring it up to scratch. The gardens were beautiful and well kept.
