Amazing historical building in a...
Liked: I think I would have preffered a full breakfast menu to the set one included in the room rate. Wagu Beef sauaage was overcooked well and truly.
Disliked: Forgot yo mention on departure. The toilet had a slow leak and then the water screached when topping up the cistern in the middle of the night

Very good
Liked: The room was amazing. The bed was the most comfortable bed I ever slept in.On arrival, the reception lady was friendly and kind
Disliked: I felt deeply upset and angry because my partner and I noticed dirty black women's undies on the bathroom floor. Turn me totally off. I've been in. Room not cleaned. There is so much dust on doors .I felt sadness and angry with the receptionist lady that she really didn't care about how I felt about our room, not being hygienicly clean.Angry paying for car park not acceptable.

See above.
Liked: Location was great. History and character of the premises were excellent. Staff were faultless.
Disliked: Room plumbing was average. The absence of in-room information (ie only a QR thing for room information) was more than disappointing. It was very disappointing and unexpected that the hotel bar had such short and limited trading hours.

Treasury the treasure
Liked: Positive and friendly approach of all staff that I spoke with were top of the ladder.Duty manager (name slips my mind mersh/Merck. .)
Disliked: Hard to think of any, but .The 'historic elevator' George Street Machinery remaining in the luft shaft dates from the 1930's/ early 1940'sThis lft was sold by Otis around the same time as the four passenger lifts at David Jones I Queen Street that were withdrawn from service along with redevelopment of DJ's 1997, as Supervisor with Otis a 1A motor generator set at DJ'S failed and due to age 1920/ 1930's only a couple of units remained in archival stock and unfortunately were fitted with DC motor driving DC generator and of no use I remembered working on the Treasury elevators in the early 70's and again a short period before casino development took over site.Approached Casino Operations and acquired armature for DJ'S elevator - correct voltages etcetera Had armature cleaned a, tested and treated and introduced to DJ passenger lift .. Above the ift machinery in the motor room you will see a large sheave ( memory, about1400mm in diameter) and at the bottom of lift shaft you could see where lift ropes were diverted to machinery. Not old enough to remember ......It could have been and electric motor gas powered system of drive and who installed the original elevator are history, but as stated earlier the lift left inside would have installed around the 1930's by Otis. Please this lovely old building in use for another century or two.I did take photos of the motor room and car etc, but they have disappeared.Signing off, John J StopfordAn old lift mechanic
