Liked: The view was beautiful of lake. You could walk from the room to lakefront in seconds. Very peaceful setting. Many new updates to room and grounds.

Disappointing

Liked: The motel was easy to locate, just off the main highway approximately a 10 minute drive outside of Baddeck. The staff were friendly and there was ample parking available. The lake behind the motel was beautiful and there was a basic continental breakfast included with the room rental.
Disliked: We were there in October (late in the tourist season) when the evenings were starting to get cool. The room was quite chilly when we arrived. We traced the root cause of the cold to the area surrounding the wall-mounted air conditioning unit which was allowing a good draft of wind into the room. We used a bathroom towel held in place by a hanger that had clips and a suitcase to block the cold air as much as possible. We turned on the electric baseboard heater, however that was not very effective due to a large desk unit blocking the majority of the heater. When crawling into bed, there was a large stain found on the sheets. Although usable, the bathroom was dated and didn't have proper venting so there was a lot of condensation that built up on bathroom surfaces, making the floor slippery. The morning of our departure, the water filter got plugged which resulted in our part of the motel not having water service for a bit but to the hotel staff's credit, they were able to fix the issue and get the water flowing again in less than 30 minutes.Despite the staff being friendly, our 1-night stay was enough and I would not be comfortable recommending a stay in this motel to friends or family based on our experience.
