On arriving to your hotel I went to check in. The lady I had was very gruff. I told her that I was told breakfast was included in our stay and she preceded to tell me it was not. I asked if she was sure as I was told that it was when I had called - she assured me it was not. I let that go, then she proceeded to tell me that the gym and the pool were closed, under renovation. I said I was very disappointed in this - my daughter, myself and my friend had all brought our bathing suits and it was one of the reasons we had chosen this hotel. I conveyed this to the lady and she said we could use the sister hotel down the street for free. I explained that I did not feel comfortable for 3 young ladies to walk alone down the streets of Toronto at night to go to the other hotel. She basically said 'oh well, it is what it is'. I was livid, so I said that then for the inconvenience she should include breakfast and she said no. I have stayed at the Renaissance before and I have had breakfast there before, but I can assure you I will not choose to stay there next time we visit Toronto which I must say is frequently.

Disliked: Good day! Many questions have arisen regarding bills upon check-in/check-out from the hotel. I booked a hotel from December 7th to December 8th through Booking and immediately paid CA$352.15 by card. Upon arrival at the hotel, the girl at the reception asked me to "authorize" my card in case something was broken/smashed in the room - as a result, CA$385.16 "authorizations" were withdrawn. After which, at night, my card was again debited, in the amount of CA$352.15. In the morning I was assured that this was some kind of catastrophic situation, this should not have happened and all funds would be returned to the card within three business days. All transactions were made from one bank/one card, all receipts are in online banking. The money was not returned. Why did this happen and how much longer do I need to wait? Thank you!
