On arriving to your hotel I went to check in. The lady I had was very gruff. I told her that I was told breakfast was included in our stay and she preceded to tell me it was not. I asked if she was sure as I was told that it was when I had called - she assured me it was not. I let that go, then she proceeded to tell me that the gym and the pool were closed, under renovation. I said I was very disappointed in this - my daughter, myself and my friend had all brought our bathing suits and it was one of the reasons we had chosen this hotel. I conveyed this to the lady and she said we could use the sister hotel down the street for free. I explained that I did not feel comfortable for 3 young ladies to walk alone down the streets of Toronto at night to go to the other hotel. She basically said 'oh well, it is what it is'. I was livid, so I said that then for the inconvenience she should include breakfast and she said no. I have stayed at the Renaissance before and I have had breakfast there before, but I can assure you I will not choose to stay there next time we visit Toronto which I must say is frequently.
Liked: We were very disappointed.
Disliked: The pool; the service; the gym.

Comfortable room, spacious and clean....
Liked: The location of this hotel was perfect - right beside the CN tower and the Rogers Centre and walking distance around the city centre. The hotel was beautiful, clean, very comfortable, spacious. The Sports Bar overlooking the Blue Jays stadium was awesome and the pool / fitness suite were amazing. The room itself was large, clean, comfortable and was a wonderful base to stay in whilst in the city. The staff were so friendly, helpful and nothing was too much bother.
Disliked: There was a coffee machine in my room but, as a non-coffee drinker, it would have been nice for more tea-bags instead. The shower was not powerful at all - maybe because I was on the 11th floor so it may have been a water pressure issue but the shower head was big and I expected it to be quite powerful. Instead it was actually just a trickle.
