Passable

Liked: What staff were there were pleasant
Disliked: No staff, struggled to get any service in the bar, asked the lady on reception for some assistance, I'm still waiting 3 days on.

Enjoyable

Liked: Good location, fab funny Pudding Club evening. Hotel is a little tired, and could do with a refurb, especially carpets, bathroom. Breakfast fabulous, staff great .
Disliked: Needs a good refurb, all looks a little dated.

Absolutely dire food, but a...

Liked: The hotel was very pleasant, easy to find, and had excellent parking. Our room was very clean and comfortable.
Disliked: We had booked to have dinner as this was a pre Valentines Day trip. When we got to the bar for a pre dinner drink, we were given paper napkins and cutlery was put onto the table.i asked why we weren't eating g in the restaurant and was told it wasn't open as there were only two of us dining. We ordered a glass of wine and then a flimsy piece of paper was given to us with a very uninspiring menu typed on it. Before booking I had downloaded the Winter menu on February 8th to look at what we could expect to eat, this bore no resemblance to what we were offered. When the starters came, they were ok but nothing special. The main s arrived and were dreadful! My husband had shoulder of lamb that was so dry, he had to ask for more jus, this eventually arrived but did little to improve it. Consequently he left the majority of it. I had fish and chips which was on par with our local village pub, however, the chips had been re fried to heat them up and were dreadful, so I didn't eat them or the cold, hard peas! The waiter/barman offered us the pudding menu but we declined as there was no point in adding to the debacle. The Receptionist tried to be helpful and when asked why we hadn't been in the restaurant told us we were the only two diners and it was felt that we might prefer the ambience of the bar, which we did not as we were dressed appropriately for a restaurant not a bar!!On the way back to our room, we saw a pile of leather bound menus which were exactly what was listed on the website along with a wine list, we had had to order wine from a blackboard in the bar.Overall, this was a very poor experience and we would have eaten better food in our local pub!!The Receptionist said he would deduct two glasses of wine from our bill, so we will see. We have yet to have breakfast so I may well be back to review that.

Disliked: There was a party at the venue, but it was thankfully not too loud & finished in good time.

Won’t be going back.

Liked: Location was lovely, was not asked about breakfast when we checked in .no
Disliked: Needs a bit of updating, water in the rooms , more lights outside the hotel, blinds on windows, move radiator. More about what’s on offer on menu no information about breakfast. Expensive just for one night .

Great location

Liked: In a very quiet area of Mickleton. Easy access to the 2 pubs in the Village. 7 minute car ride to Chipping Campden, 10 minutes to Broadway, 12 minutes to Stratford.Reception and bar were very well presented.Bathroom showed signs of being refurbished. Shower was great.
Disliked: Bit of a musty smell in the room. The bed was very soft which was not to our particular taste.Although the bathroom has been refurbished, the bedroom itself seemed a little tired. No coat hooks to hang up our coats! When moving my booking from Thursday/Friday nights to Friday/Saturday nights I was charged an extra £80 despite paying the £20 extra for rebooking and cancellation. We did not take breakfast as we thought £15pp/pd was too expensive.
