Lovely restaurant with friendly staff

Liked: The property has a very good restaurant where we had an excellent dinner and breakfast. Service was friendly and attentive. Staff generally were very professional and helpful. Good parking at the property.
Disliked: Our room did not meet our expectations. Although coffee, tea and water was supplied and the beds were comfortable, the furnishings were basic and there were damp patches on the walls, in particular near the window. I could smell the damp.After mentioning this to one of the staff I was informed that the room would be removed from bookings and refurbished.

Liked: Just a five-minute drive from the historic center of Durham with its cathedral and castle, this is a classic English inn in the countryside, with pub, great restaurant, and accommodations. The room was very up to date and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, and the dinner was so good we ate here both nights we were in Durham. The staff are young, friendly, and enthusiastic. Lots of sheep grazing the pastures behind the inn. Great value for the price. Strongly recommend!

Liked: Lovely pub in remote but beautiful location although close to Durham. Good food and 2 excellent guest ales in bar. There staff were exceptional. Would gladly come back again.
Disliked: It was all good.

Liked: Really handy stop off for me when returning from the south. Staff lovely and comfortable room with good modern shower. Ideal.
