Liked: The breakfast was very well cooked, choice of cereals and fresh fruits .Vanessa our host is very knowledgeable on the local area and places further afield.Thornton lodge is the perfect hideaway if you want somewhere quiet

Liked: Breakfast is served in a lovely wood panelled dining room. Delicious full English breakfast with toast and honey,jam and marmalade, plenty of tea and coffee all served by Vanessa, a cold buffet breakfast if wanted too. The room was beautiful with a big comfy four poster bed. A little fridge in the room had a welcome pack of scones, jam, cream, cute little bottle of milk, biscuits and wine. All delicious. White company toiletries were a lovely addition too. Excellent to have the use of the sitting room and sun room with snooker/pool table and decking with seating.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: EVERYTHING! The host, Vanessa made me feel most welcome and was so helpful with suggestions for pubs, hikes, local area activities. The room was just gorgeous, with so many unexpected little luxuries, such as fresh milk, ground coffee for the press, biscuits and creme scone upon arrival. The bed was super comfortable and the toiletries provided were lovely. The view from my room was gorgeous and breakfast was superb with fresh fruits, cereals or cooked options. Excellent wifi signal and tv signal too! Just a lovely stay in a beautiful grand home.

Liked: Everything was perfect, including the weather! Vanessa, the host, went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful stay in her amazing house and her knowledge of the local area and eating places was exceptional. Our room was lovely, comfortable and quiet, the breakfast was wonderful and the guest lounge and views were an added bonus.
