Overall I enjoyed my stay...

Liked: The room was a great size, the bed was comfy and the room and the bathroom were clean. It was a great location to Edinburgh city centre and I was able to walk there easily.It was warm.The hotel provided off street parking for my hire car, which was great, even though apparently I parked it in the wrong spot!
Disliked: My room was on the 5th floor and I had a heavy suitcase which I had to carry up to the room. I did know ahead of time that there wasn't a lift, but I had no idea I would be located on the top floor. The staff made no offer to help.The room was shabby - they need to look at updating their decor.The people in the room next door were noisy but thankfully that didn't go on too late.

Pleasant stay in Edinburgh

Liked: Fantastic location and helpful staff. I liked the traditional decor and the bar was a real throwback. Very reasonably priced for the city centre location.
Disliked: Stayed in room 2 and an extractor fan external to my room was operating all night, impacting my sleep. I was told the external doors shut at 11pm.It would be nice to know what would happen if a hotel resident was delayed in their return to the hotel and arrived after 11pm? Would that mean no admittance? Or would some leeway be offered?

Disliked: Poor cleanliness, old products, you can’t regolate heating. No hot water during the night. TV wasn’t working, WiFi connecting really poor. Staff is amazing, welcoming and very friendly.
