The room wasn’t worth much...

Liked: We arrived at 730pm on a Saturday evening to check in and eat in the hotel, only to be told they had stopped serving food! The room consisted of a collection of decorative items that really should have been put in a skip, years ago! Two random chairs that served no purpose other than to block the wardrobe and clutter the bathroom. Pictures that were faded, of nothing in particular which even a charity shop would put in the bin. Wood-chip wallpaper on the ceiling peeling off. Wallpaper on the wall which was straight out of 1978. The shower head was of a design that has not been in production since 1986. The hotel owner needs to order a skip, bin this random bric-a-brac and invest a few hundred pounds in making their rooms presentable. I would be embarrassed to charge people £115 to stay in rooms like that. The hotel area and bars are not too bad at all, although compared to other bars and restaurants in Upton, they were quiet that night. The funniest thing was the totally random chest of drawers in a corridor which had two pillow cases acting as doilies and a couple of random dog pictures forming some kind of shrine/homage to 1980’s interior design. I seriously can’t believe a hotel can get away with such a lack of investment and still operate on booking.com

A great weekend.

Liked: Lovely atmosphere in the bar when we arrived.Locals and visitors enjoying Friday night.Excellent choice of food, Friday night is Grill night, also vegetarian options.Very relaxed.
Disliked: We were pleased that there was a car park but it was challenging!

Lovely hotel, lovely restaurant, comfy...

Liked: We had such a lovely stay. The rooms were lovely the restaurant was lovely especially the breakfast. The beds were comfy and it was a lovely location with parking. It was my mums birthday and they decorated the table so nicely. We would definitely recommend!
Disliked: Nothing.
