Comfortable and friendly stay.
Liked: Excellent location for us. Always friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was delightful and lounge is always so connectable.
Disliked: Shame the courtyard cottage was so cold and the mattress springs had gone. A cold (even with the small plug in heater) and lumpy night.

V overpriced for v poor...
Disliked: Room v basic. Shower didn’t work , toilet didn’t flush , stain on the carpet , mould on windows V basic hospitality , no glasses, no water , no biscuits 2 r bags

Comfortable room and friendly staff....
Liked: The room was quiet and warm. The staff friendly, helpful and accommodating: I left my suitcase with them on the day of arrival, before check-in and on the day of leaving, after checking out.
Disliked: The toilet didn't flush properly and the lights weren't that bright.

Liked: The hotel itself is very attractive, pleasantly decorated and perfectly located.
Disliked: We had booked a room with a four-poster bed and a bath.When we arrived we were told that the room was not available. However, they were offering an upgrade as an alternative.We ventured up to the room only to be met by sheer disappointment.We failed to see how the room could possibly be an upgrade. The room was small with an en-suite shower room, the decor was drab and the furniture sparce.To add insult to injury, the room was far from clean!There were peanuts on the carpet and cobwebs on the ceilings.We are not people to complain. However, we had booked the room especially for our two year anniversary. Therefore, the disappointment was immense.The chap on reception appeared relatively unperturbed by our concerns. He did offer an alternative room with a bath, unfortunately the room smelt of urine, I pointed this out and the concierge agreed.It was very unfortunate that the hotel did not feel the need to contact us in advance of our stay to inform us that the room was not available, this surely is just good manners and even better practice in hospitality.Even though the concierge agreed we were not offered anything by means of apology, not even verbal.All very upsetting and disappointing.Needless to say, we will not be returning.
